What’s new? v4.96 — The inventory probe is managed from Iurefficient

The probe that discovers devices on your network can now be managed without logging into the machine it runs on: see whether it is connected, change its settings and ask it to “scan now”. It also recognizes phones and tablets, identifies the model and brings back a photo.
v4.96.0 — The probe is managed from here
The probe that discovers devices on the network is now managed from Iurefficient. Before, changing how it scanned or checking that it was still running meant logging into the machine it runs on. Now it all happens from the inventory screen.
What you can do
- See whether it is connected. Each probe reports its status, the networks it sees and what it can do.
- Change its settings from the app. Values are validated on save and secrets never travel this way.
- Ask it to “scan now” without waiting for the next cycle, and see how the order finished.
Better-identified devices
The probe recognizes phones and tablets as their own category, identifies each device’s model and, when it finds one, brings back its photo. A discovered device no longer arrives as “unknown” for lack of a category. New devices still go through the inbox, where you decide which ones enter the inventory.
You can also select and ignore, in bulk, the probe’s own containers and virtual machines so they don’t fill the inbox.
